Yes We Cannibal Meat Meet Salon Series

The innovative, arts-forward, anti-profit group Yes We Cannibal is hosting talks and performances with artists in person, as well as streamed to Twitch in their Meat Meet Salon Series. Sundays 4 pm–6 pm at Yes We Cannibal’s Government Street space or twitch.tv/yeswecannibal. Free. The schedule is as follows:
July 4: Meat Meet #18: Sun Ra/Dr. Thomas Stanley (Washington D.C.) and R.C. Clarke (Baton Rouge)–Screening of the late Sun Ra’s own cut of Space is the Place, followed by “Alter Destiny versus Manifest Destiny: The End of the American Century and the Path towards Black Liberation,” a conversation between Dr. Thomas Stanley and R.C. Clarke.
July 11: Meat Meet #19: Ilona Berger (Los Angeles) & Cary Cronenwett (Los Angeles)–Screening of Maggots and Men, followed by a pre-recorded interview with Carey Cronenwett and Ilona Berger.
July 18: Meat Meet #20: Austin Franklin (Baton Rouge)–Austin Franklin is an internationally recognized composer and sound artist. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Experimental Music & Digital Media from Louisiana State University.
July 25: Meat Meet #21: Melinda James Kentuckey (Baton Rouge)–Melinda James Kentucky debuts melodic, dark, and disco-influenced live looped pleasure. Erin Elliott, performing under the stage name Melinda James Kentucky, is an artist and musician from Baton Rouge, LA.
