Yes We Cannibal Meat Meet Salon Series

The innovative, arts-forward, anti-profit group Yes We Cannibal is hosting talks and performances with artists in person, as well as streamed to Twitch in their Meat Meet Salon Series. Sundays 4 pm–6 pm at Yes We Cannibal’s Government Street space or twitch.tv/yeswecannibal. Free. The schedule is as follows:
August 1: Meat Meet #22: The Social Boot Network Panel Discussion, featuring Ugonna “UGO” V. Njoku, Mia Upshaw, and others—A group of artists and innovators will discuss The Social Boot Network platform, which aims to encourage discussions around theories of systemic inequality in Baton Rouge and beyond.
August 8: Meat Meet #23: Musical Performance by Renée Reed—Five months following the release of her debut self-titled album, “dreamy-fi folk” Acadiana artist Renée Reed is finally getting to perform it in person. Yes We Cannibal will host her release party this month in their gallery space, where Reed will be joined by Baton Rouge singer/songwriter Hal Lambert. Doors open at 6 pm, music starts at 6:30 pm. Entrance is donation-based.
August 15: Meat Meet #24: How Tasty Was My Little Frenchman (1971) film screening
August 29: Meat Meet #25: Musical Performances by Jade and Jireh—Two hot and up and coming local hip hop artists, Jade and Jireh, will present an exciting and upbeat show.
