Meat Meet Salon Series

The innovative, arts-forward, anti-profit group Yes We Cannibal is hosting talks and performances with artists in person, as well as streamed to Twitch in their Meat Meet Salon Series. Sundays 4 pm–6 pm at Yes We Cannibal’s Government Street space or twitch.tv/yeswecannibal. Free. The schedule is as follows:
March 13: Meat Meet #43: Discussion with Laramie Griffin, president of EvolvE (Victory Over Louisiana Violence)––Griffin, a former missile technician for the U.S. Navy originally from Baton Rouge, finds it impossible not to fight for true racial equality now that he is back living in the South.
March 20: Meat Meet #44: Film screening of W.R.: Mysteries of the Organism (1971)—Dusan Makavejev’s surreal documentary-fiction looks into the life and work of controversial psychologist and philosopher Wilhelm Reich, before abrupting transitioning into a film about a beautiful Slavic girl’s sexual awakening.
March 27: Meat Meet #45: Interview and presentation with Active Cultures (Los Angeles)—This Meat Meet, which will be streamed live to the Gallery and Twitch as the guests are remote, will explore the artistic expression of global foodways, which provide an important glimpse into our culture, equity, and fundamental beliefs.
