Lunchtime Lectures in February

February 8: Remembering Ronald Kennedy—Join Eileen Kennedy as she reflects on the life and impact of her late husband, artist and activist Ronald Kennedy, in this Lunchtime Lecture at the West Baton Rouge Museum accompanying the exhibition Ron’s Retro: Honoring Ronald Kennedy with Local Black Artists.

February 24: The West Baton Rouge Museum’s next Lunchtime Lecture is titled Remembering the Sit-Ins of 1960, which will be led by Joan K. Garner, daughter of Civil Rights Activist John B. Garner. Garner will discuss the context and importance of her father’s Supreme Court case, Garner v. Louisiana, and the peaceful protests that surrounded it.
