Jewish Film Festival

The Baton Rouge Jewish Film Festival returns this year, bringing a series of acclaimed films to the Manship Theatre related to Jewish culture and history. On the bill are:

January 12: A Crime on the Bayou, 7 pm: In 1966, a Black teenager from Plaquemines Parish tries to break up an argument between white and Black teenagers outside a newly-integrated school. When he is arrested for assault on a minor, a young Jewish attorney brings his case all the way to the US Supreme Court. $11.50

January 13: Born in Auschwitz, 7 pm: The untold story of the only Jewish baby born in the infamous death camp who survived. $11.50.

January 15: Honeymood, 7:30 pm: A romantic comedy set over the course of a couple’s wedding night in Jerusalem. $11.50.

January 16: The Light Ahead, 3 pm: A 1939 Yiddish film classic created on the eve of World War II. $11.50
