“Honoring Our Own: Dr. Charles Smith” at the Shell Gallery

Dr. Charles Smith has had a storied life and career as a minister, Marine, historian, social worker, activist, and speaker. He is also highly regarded for his expressive figural sculptures depicting the African American experience, which earned him the prestigious Visionary Award from Intuit: The Center for Intuitive & Outsider Art this June. In honor of Smith, a display of his sculptures will be up for viewing at the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center’s Shell Gallery. artsbr.org.
