Films at the Manship Theatre

Leave the X-Men to the megaplex. Each month, the Manship Theatre offers a slate of films, from modern classics to engaging new documentaries and locally-produced stories. Here’s what’s in store:

April 13: What the Hell Happened to Blood, Sweat & Tears? : This film has something for everyone: It’s a political thriller, with action sequences, about a rock band, featuring lost documentary footage. 7:30 pm. $10.50.

April 15: Hollow Tree: Kira Akerman’s latest documentary, exploring the experience of growing up at the forefront of the climate crisis in Louisiana from three diverse perspectives. A filmmaker Q&A will follow the screening. 7:30 pm. $10.50.

April 16: The Blue Caftan: Women Filmmakers in Maghreb Cinema: This example of Maghrebi-French cinema is a moving look at cultural tradition and falling in love. 2 pm. $10.50.
