Community History Festival

April 22

The Pride-Chaneyville Branch of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library hosts this community history festival each year. It’s a day of fun, food, and games. This year’s theme is “The Sportsman’s Life.” Expect a day of country fun, food, games, crafts and entertainment. Activities also will include virtual reality gaming, bingo, animal meet-and-greets, a barbecue and hot sauce demo, and more. Chef and author Philippe Parola will do a special signing of his book If You Can’t Beat ‘Em, Eat Em!, followed by a tasting of invasive game gumbo. The Louisiana Lagniappe Dulcimers and the Upbeats will provide music, and once an hour it’s time for the ever-popular old-fashioned Cake Walk. 10 am–2 pm. (225) 658-1540 or ebrpl.com.
