A Taste of the Deep South
October 7
Celebrate the Baton Rouge blues with one of our city’s biggest musical icons for the annual A Taste of the Deep South Festival.
Headlining with his band Flavor and the Listening Room Allstars, Henry Turner, Jr. joins the Listening Room All-Stars and dozens of guest artists at the Riverfront Plaza all weekend long, performing everything from reggae, to EMD, to belly dancing.
In addition to the tunes, the festival promises a Vendors’ Village, an international food court offering Southern and ethnic foods, and more. Free and family friendly, from noon–8 pm. VIP Experience passes are $25 and include two meal and drink tickets; Turner VIP tickets are $100 for two people, who will get access to the VIP tent, and CDs by Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor. More information at htjday.com.
Also: Don’t miss the Pre-Party on Thursday from 8 pm–midnight, held at Henry Turner Jr.’s Listening room.
