Butler Greenwood Plantation
This early plantation remains in the same family which established it in the
1790's. The antebellum home, a raised English cottage with Victorian
embellishments added in the 1850's, is filled with priceless antiques, oil
portraits, and the area's finest original Victorian formal parlor, its
12-piece rosewood set still in the original upholstery. Surrounding the home
are 19th-century gardens and a grove of moss-draped live oaks planted in
1799. House tours
daily 9 to 5, Sunday 1 to 5. Admission fee charged.

Catalpa Plantation
William Fort came to Spanish Feliciana in the very early 1800's to establish a thriving sugar and cotton plantation. The strong sense of continuity and reverence for the past is unequaled anywhere, and today it is one of the only two homes in the area open for touring that is still owned and lived in by the descendants of the original family. It is shown, not as a museum, but as a home that is lived, used, and loved. Fine portraits, exceptional antiques, and beautiful old china, porcelain, and silver are original to either Catalpa or Rosedown Plantation (home of the owner's grandmother.)
Enjoy a very personal tour through this gracious home filled with the treasures of five generations.

Cottage Plantation

Greenwood Plantation
Greenwood Plantation was built in 1830 by William Ruffin Barrow in Greek Revival style architecture with 28 columns surrounding the house. It is considered the South's finest example of classic colonial. The original house burned and has since been restored and it now stands substantially as it did over a century ago. Guided tours daily. Admission fee. |

Myrtles Plantation
The Myrtles Plantation invites you to step into the past for a guided tour of antebellum splendor. You will see fine antiques and architectural treasures. Guided tours daily - 9:00am to 5:00pm. Admission fee. |

Oakley House at Audubon State Park
Where John J. Audubon came to Oakley in 1821 to tutor Eliza Pirrie, and it was the home of her daughter Isabelle Matthews during the hard years of the Civil War and Reconstruction. When the last of this family died in 1946, the State of Louisiana bought and restored the house, now the centerpiece of Audubon Historic Site. Tours daily. Admission fee. |
